Legal Question in Entertainment Law in New York

Fitness Program

Hello gurus, I am a fitness instructor working within a fraternity (non-profit organization) to bring a fitness event to a college campus. This event will be two months long and will incorporate various exercise routines in addition to educational workshops. Aside from a physical from a physician, what documentation would I need to provide or have participants sign off on to ensure that I or the school wouldn't get sued for an injury?

Re: Fitness Program

You'd want an injury waiver and release. You should also provide information about participation. The latter can usually be found on an exercise DVD package and the former may be obtained from an Internet site. Of course, your best protection would be to have an attorney draw up the documents.
