A NY divorce should be valid everywhere. You would have to meet NY residency requirements before you start the case. If both parties are willing to sign, and there is no property to be divided in the documents, your cost could be as little as $695 total including all court fees. can i get a divorce in NY?

A. If you are living in New York State for over 2 years, the answer would be yes.

what are the costs of doing this?

A. Many attorneys (including my office) charge a flat fee for an uncontested divorce. The issue arises as to whether your spouse will contest the divorce. When that happens, most (if not all) attorneys charge an hourly rate.
