Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Common Law

I'm seeking advice on any common law laws if there are any as well as child support info. I have been with a man for11 yers and share a child in common. I want to know if I have any rights to anything besides child support with this type of situation. We are registered in NYC as Domestic Partners. Please advise me of any info you may have on this type of situation.

Re: Common Law

New York State Law does not recognize common law marriage, so if you plan to leave, you do not need a divorce.

New York State Law does recognize the duty of a biological parent to support his/her child. He would be liable for child support.
