contested annullment

I was married for a little less than 4 months before I left my spouse. My spouses lawyer contacted my lawyer and is requesting for my net worth and spousal support. Should I be worried that my spouse is going after the money in my bank accounts?

A net worth statement is required under NYS Domestic Relations law. However, for a 4 month marriage it is a little bit overkill.

In terms of spousal support, most judges will not award support for a period of time greater than the marriage.

For a 4 month marriage, I would suggest asking your wife about an annullment; that the marriage never occurred.
