Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Continuously Postponed divorce settlement

Over two years ago, my wife and I separated. We agreed to handle our divorce through a mediator rather than attorneys. I cashed in a CD, took a big loss, and gave her the money to settle any debts incurred during the marriage. With this money she hired an attorney, and served me with divorce papers. I was left with no choice but to hire an attorney myself. It has now been over two years, My wife has gone through two attorneys (both paid with my money), and several court dates have been postponed due to fact that she is dragging her feet. My attorney tells me ''he doesn't know what to do'' I desperately want to get on with my life, however, neither her or my attorney are cooperating in any way. I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

Thank You.

If your attorney is not pushing your case, it may be time to change attorneys. Let me know if I can be of help.

Something is wrong here. Suggest you seek a second opinion with an experienced matrimonial attorney. You need an aggressive attorney who can front-burner your case.

I practice in NYC and Long Island.
