Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I have been dateing this guy for 7 years and engaged and lived with him for 4 years, i have two kids by him. We bought a house together but it is in his name he also bought me a car as a christmas gift.that i am now stuck paying for the payments on the car.We just split up due to alot of fighting problems that we been having for a very long time, i never worked up intill 3 months ago I have no money saved up because he never wanted me to work, and he kicked me out and now im living with my parents who are going to lose their house and i will have no where to go. My question is what can I do as far as what i am entitled to?

At a minimum, you are entitled to court ordered child support payments.

Mr. Wade beat me to the answer regarding child support: this is required under law. As to the home and car, you may have a claim if you can prove that you originally contributed money to the home (or that you did during the relationship to enhance its value), however, you would have a much more solid claim if the two of you were married.

At a bare minimum, you should attempt to obtain the child support. Your claim for any other item(s) could be assessed after a more detailed review of all facts (circumstances) of your relationship.
