Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Can my ex deduct money from the agreed settlement amount because he feels he doesn't owe it without going to court? A simple yes or no will do. I do not have a credit card.

No he cannot. This would be a breach of a settlement agreement -a contract. Your remedy may be through a court order if he refuses to abide by the agreement. Good luck.

Further, if your settlement agreement was incorporated into your Judgment of Divorce, then he is in direct violation of a court order, and you may petition the court for contempt. If it was not incorporated, then you still have a contract action.
