The answer to this question is unfortunately yes. The best remedy for such a situation is to go to court immediately so that your ex is required to allow you to spend a reasonable amount of time with the children and share in decisions pertaining to their health and well-being. In the state of New York, judges favor a 50/50 parenting schedule provided that there are no major issues such as untreated mental health concerns.
