Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Divorce and Disability of a spouse

I am disabled by a brain aneurysm - I had one rupture and surgery, and have another aneurysm awaiting treatment. I am also planning on getting divorced. How will my disability affect the martial asset division and any spousal support? I receive SS benefits as well as private disability insurance right now.

Your situation will obviously be taken into consideration. However, without knowing ALL of the relevant facts, you will not get a definitive answer here.

Suggest you consult with an experienced matrimonial attorney.

FYI - I practice in NYC and Long Island.
