How do I go about getting a divorce when I don't know where other person lives. Been out of marriage since 1998

There are ways of attempting to find the missing spouse. Alternatively, if a diligent search fails, the courts have ways of allowing alternative service, including by publication. Your attorney will be able to guide you through this process.

I agree with David. Very difficult to do. You would have to retain a firm that searches for missing individuals. If the diligent search comes up nill, you would have to convince the Court to commence the lawsuit through publication.

If you can show that your spouse is impossible to find, then court may allow to process the divorce proceedings without presence of your spouse.
