Legal Question in Family Law in New York

divorce..ny state..grounds

i am asking this question on behalf of my brother.

he is married and left his wife in march. he no longer wants to be married. he left because he was no longer in love w/ her, there was no sexual intercourse & felt their relationship was over for quite a while. she has been seeing a therapist for a while before he left. she says she has been depressed for many years ( the therapist does not agree w/that). she is a stay at home mom who has dificulty maintaining the house & could take better care of the kids. she never wants to leave the house. all she does is stay home and watch tv. in NY state what could be HIS grounds for divorce? he would like to file.

Re: divorce..ny state..grounds

Depending upon the specific details of his case, it could be possible to file for divorce on the grounds of constructive abandonment. Your brother should contact an experienced matrimonial attorney to discuss the facts of his case.
