Legal Question in Family Law in New York

father saying not so nice stuff to kids

In our custody order it states that neither party shall talk badly about the other parent to or around the children. What are my rights if he is doing telling my kids that i can take care of them better than i can.

You can go to the family court with charges of parental alienation, but I would speak to a family lawyer in your area to see if the situation can be handled without involving the court.

Whatever you do, avoid any urge to put your ex down in front of your kids. In fact speak well of him if you can. It is important for your kids to see at least one of you acting like an adult.

Good luck.
