Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My husband and I live together; own a home together. We are headed toward a divorce but have 2 children so it is difficult to say the least. In the meantime he is acquiring bills under his own name that I do not approve of. I am concerned I will be responsible for half of them when we get divorced. what can I do to protect myself and my children financially..

Make sure that you consult an attorney who will draft a separation agreement or stipulation of settlement that requires your husband to be responsible for all bills acquired in his name.
