Legal Question in Family Law in New York

judge ordred 3x current child support

I presented both my tax return and statement of expenses, which an accountant had helped me prepare, and the judge told me that I was lying about my income, and that he knows musicians make at least $70k per year (I made $15k last year, in part because of the custody battle for my daughter). I had been paying 17% up to now, and paying for additional things like school clothes, new winter clothes (coats, boots, sweaters), after school activities, etc. There's no way though, that i can afford these new payments - they're more than 4 times what I've been paying. What can I do?

It sounds like you may need an attorney. Is there a final order issued? If so then objections need to be filed within 30 days of receiving the order. Contact me at www.traceyabloodsaw.com

You have a limited time period, usually no more than thirty days, within which to file objections or a notice of appeal to review an order of support. You should consult an attorney IMMEDIATELY to determine what, if any, options remain.
