Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Laws for US citizens marrying foreigners.

Dear Sir,

I am a 25 year old muslim Doctor girl.I am due to marry a 28yr old US citizen boy(also a muslim) on the 21st of march, just 15 days from now.

Its an arranged marraige.

The problem is that, my family thinks, the family of the groom may not file for a visa for me later on , If I fail the USMLE.

The marraige will be in India according to Muslim rites, and they leave me a week after our marraige and promise they will file for a visa immediately in the US.

But my family is worried, they will just abandon me.

I wish to know if they can do that?

Also I wish to know , if by the US laws, can I file any case on them if they do that?

Please advise me.

I am at my wits end, and my marraige is just 15 days away.

Please help me.

Thanks.
