Legal Question in Family Law in New York

nys divorce

My husband thretens to divorce me on grounds of constructive abandonement. It's true that we haven't had relations for several years. But, this was after I found he had signed up on a number of dating sites since 8 months of marriage (found e-mails, etc.). Would he automatically be granted a divorce? With evidence of what he did, do I have any rights to dispute his grounds?

You can dispute the grounds in your answer, and use adultery as your grounds for the divorce.

Give me a call if you need an attorney.

Of course you have the right to defend yourself and to dispute your husband's allegations.

If you decide to contest (disagree) the divorce, you should try and consult an attorney.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact our office.

Good luck.
