Legal Question in Family Law in New York

If a person brings up a child to the age of 13 and then the child is snatched out of the house by her custodial mother and given to her custodial father does the person who provided a home, food, love etc have any rights even if the child is NOT blood related to this individual. All contact has been cut off between the person who took care of the child and the child.

You should have brought an action to be awarded custody of the child years ago while the child was in your physical custody. Now it appears that the actual parents are interested in being the custodians again and this complicates things for you, but if you feel so strongly about continuing to raise and care for this child, that's the way you can pursue it. It seems pretty complicated at this point, so you probably want the help of an attorney.
