Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I recently find out I have a 6 year old kid. I pay support but have no contact. Also the kid is named after another guy. Can I terminate my rights

Have you taken a DNA test to determine it's yours? If not, take the DNA test.

If the child is not yours, you have strong grounds to end your legal status.

If the child is yours, you may still be required to pay child support unless and until the other person or someone else adopts your child. Child support isn't tied to custody/visitation. So, simply because you choose to give up visitation rights does not mean you can avoid your child support responsibilities.
