Separation Agreement in NYS

My husband wants a separation - I want to hold off. I know he can file for divorce, but is it possible for him to ''serve'' me with a separation agreement ?

No, he cannot serve you with a separation agreement. He can serve you with a Summons seeking a legal separation. Of course, you have the option of contesting the lawsuit.
