Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am seperated from my husband and we are ready to start divorce proceedings. my question of concern is that we both are looking to relocate next year after our daughter finishes high school. he wants to move to California and I want to go to Florida. My duaghter talks about wanting to go to college in California. If my daughter goes to college in the same state as her father will that effect my child support? I hate the idea of being so far from her but we live in new york now and I have family and friends in florida. this will make my move a little easier, not to mention it will be less expensive for me to live. I have been a stay at home mother for 15 years and depend soley on my soon to be ex's support financially. Hpw does child support work in situations like this?

Where your daughter attends college will not alter child support. Child support is payable by the non custodial parent to the custodial parent until the child is 21 years of age. However, any amount the non custodial parent pays for room and board at college is deductible from child support.
