Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My son spends two nights out of the week with my ex. On occasion my new boyfriend will spend the night with me or I with him on those nights. I work and am a full time student and my new boyfriend is a NYC Paramedic supervisor so we are stable. But I am worried that my ex can use that to petition for full custody.

If am reading your questions properly, the only time your boyfriend spends the night is when your son is with your ex. If my interpretation is correct, you may not have anything to worry about. The problem occurs when overnight guests of the opposite sex stay the night with the child in the house.
