Legal Question in Family Law in New York
My wife and I are looking to get a no fault uncontested divorce in NY. However, I live in England and she lives in New York (full resident). We are trying to decide whether to do the forms ourselves or get an attorney. If I hired an attorney in NY, would they be able to sign and notarize all the forms for me, or would I still have to do it myself? Also if we got all the forms we needed would we be able to sign them all straight away or do you need to wait to file the first packet before you sign the second?

No - the New York attorney could not notarize your signature unless you personally appeared to sign before that attorney. The way to make this happen:
Have your U.S. Attorney prepare the appropriate documents.
Find a major law firm in the UK that has a U.S. based notary, or go to the US Consulate and get your documents notarized.
Your spouse has to sign her documents before a U.S. basd notary as well. Then all the documents have to submitted at once.
