Legal Question in Family Law in New York

my wife (and her parents) don't get along with my mom and sister and are refusing to let them see our newborn baby. do my mom and/or sister have a legal right to see the child? I DO want them to see the child, but my wife and her family have threatened divorce if I invite them over to see baby. i know...it is a messy situation.

I assume you live in an apartment or house that you and your wife pay the mortgage or rent. Therefore, you can invite who you want to into your house (with exceptions, which don't apply in this situation). As a result, if you want your mom and sister to see your child, you have three choices: (1) take the child to their house; (2) invite them to your house; or (3) fold because of your wife's threats. Of course, there are consequences and regrets for any choice.
