Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My wife and I are proceeding to towards divorce. We were married and live in NYS. We are both cover for medical insurance by my wife's employer. The question I have is, until the divorce is final by issue of the divorce decree, does my wife have to keep me on her employer's insurance? Or can the insurance be canceled at the time of the separation agreement? Or is there a specific legal requirement regarding this at all in NYS?
