My x-wife left me and threw the engagement ring at me saying she didn’t want it. She then asked me for it and I was trying to work on the marriage. She said she wanted it to so no know would know what was going on. I never once thought y not where your wedding band. Once she got the ring she then left me and moved to Los Angeles 5 days later. I’m going to sue for $6,000 half the value of the ring. It was appraised at $12,000 and I am trying not to be greedy

The engagement ring became hers when you got married. Technically you have no property rights to it.
