Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I have a two year old son and want to leave the state for either the summer or longer do I have to tell his father we are not married and never have been? Can he go to court and get me arrested or something like that?

No, he can not get you arrested and yes he could go to court to try and stop you.

You haven't given enough info concerning the Father and son relationship.

Does he visit, etc?

Do you have sole custody?

I would suggest you petition for same.
