hi i am in new york and i have temporary custody of my nephew his parrents and my hubby and i decided that we would adopt him, how do we go about it?

First, get an attorney. This can be a very complicated process since it involves a child. YOU need to file an petition with family court and go through an investigative process as well as court proceedings. Do not try to do this one on your own. It will eventually cost more and could be denied.
