Legal Question in Medical Leave in New York

I am on fmla. Company restructuring and I am being let go. Can the company let me go if I am on the fmla?

The company cannot retaliate against you because you took FMLA. However, you aren't provided greater protection simply because you're on FMLA. Therefore, if your company eliminates positions, and your position is one to go, as long as your leave was not a factor in letting you go, the decision is valid.
