Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Can a 15yr old be made to testify without consent?

My 15yr old had witnessed an incident between a teacher and a student in his class and was asked if he was willing to give some information as to what he saw. He agreed and was later escorted out of school grounds and taken to another building several blocks away where they had him sign a form stating he was willing to testify. All of this without consent from either parent. Can the school be held liable?
