Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

hello, i was arrested for shoplifting when i was 17 years old. but my school ID stated i was already 18 years old. i never had a chance to get that changed. the school had the date and month mixed up. (if it was sept 4th they had on my id as april 9th) they sent me to jail for 1 night. it was a horrible, most memorable moment of my life. i never followed up or talked to anyone about this problem. how do i go about on this situation? They trialed me as an adult instead of a minor. they had me arrested and put in jail when i was still 17.

you WILL be tried as an adult so long you are over the age of 16, family court jurisdiction needs at 16 and criminal court jurisdiction begins there!

DONT DO IT AGAIN, makes no difference if 18 or 17, since 16 is the cut off point
