Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Certicate of Satisfaction

How do I go about getting a judgement satisfied that is paid in full. I have a notorized receipt from the individual stating it has been paid. I want to have the judgement removed from the County records or at least marked satisfied. This information needs to be marked paid on my credit reports and DMV and the Dept. of Taxation needs to be notified. I want to make sure all involved will accept this judgement as paid. I heard that you must apply to the Court for a Certificate of Satisfaction. Is that true and how do you go about it? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you.

Re: Certicate of Satisfaction

Go to a legal stationary store. Obtain a blumberg for called "Satisfaction of Judgment." Complete the form. Have the Judgment Creditor sign the form before a notary public. File the form with the County Clerk.

Mike.
