Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

death

my brother died and has no will, no survivors. I was named beneficiary to his death benefit. He has a storage unit I have been paying on and I went to get access and the storage place said that I needed some court documents to grant me access. Please advise.

Re: death

You need to commence an estate proceeding to appoint yourself an executor to have access to the storage unit.
