Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

dog co-ownership

I have a dog that was sold to me on an open registration (breed and show) with the AKC, we have nothing in writing other than the official papers which states I am owner #1 and my address. Can the woman take the dog away from me. Our verbal agreement was we would show and breed the dog. Now because she is upset with me over a personal situation, she wants the dog spayed. Can she force me?

Re: dog co-ownership

Great she is angry and the dog can't reproduce. Real fair to the dog. Can she force you? Unlikely. Can she try and cost you a bunch of money? Yes she can. Get to a lawyer, and try and settle it before either it costs you or the dog the family jewels!

Good Luck.
