Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Financial Settlement

I lived with my fiance for 6 1/2 years for 5 years I paid his mortgage, no written agreement. He asked me to leave then moved in another woman. He still has much of my furniture and will not pay or give it to me. Do I have any rights to get any of the mortgage money back and my furniture or payment for it? A lesson well-learned here! Thank you.

Re: Financial Settlement

you probably do not have a right to get the mortgage money back, unless you can prove it was a loan to your x.

However you can certainly get your furniture back or the monetary amount for same.

No. Next time put all agreements in writing.
