Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

is this fraud

After a 5 year relationship, can i sue my former lover for breach of contract in proposing marriage, having all arrangements done, but found out in 2004 that he was married with a family. I am angry, hurt and wonder how cruel he could be to tell my son (not his child) that he was to marry me.

Re: is this fraud

Your case raises an interesting question, however if you relied on the representations he made, while he knew they were false, you can make out a claim for fraud. Of course, you will also have to show damages to have a successful claim.

Feel free to contact me to discuss this matter further if you'd like.

Kind regards,

This was very unfortuate. Not a nice person.

You can successfully bring an action for all money you paid out for 'arrangements'. You can also sue just to embarrass him and his wife.
