Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

I moved in with my father for 2 months and went to Fl. for vacation. I decided to stay in Fl. due to my mother being sick. My father said I could pick up my things. Now he told me I can't and will call the police if I try to pick them up. Can he do this?

This is obviously a difficult situation. If you can prove that you have been living with your father in the same household and have documents to prove it, such as bills in your name, driver's license, etc., your father has no right to lock you out from your place of residency. However, there is no sure way of knowing what can happen when family members are involved, you may want to talk to the police and/or go to family court.
