Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

I have a past due on a hospital admission for my son that I feel I do not owe because of duplicate services that was performed the same day. First from his doctor and then the same tests were performed at the emergency room. Our doctor advised us to take him to the hospital (Childrens Hospital) overnight. The charges that are in questioned are the emergency room visit.

It could not have been the same test since it was not performed at the same time - just the same day. Furthermore, many times doctors repeat tests since you may have a false positive reading.
