Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

Annulment question

one of my friends was married to us citizen for 4 years and the marriage took place abroad. and it took almost 4 years for him to get here, but then when finally he got here his wife couldn't get along with him because she was seeing someone else by that time, anyways long story short he was told to move out while his GC was in process. Later on he was given the option of signing an annulment document and get his GC or else get deported. he took the first option but now he is not sure what his legal status is after the marriage is dissolved and will he be able to apply for citizenship ever? and what happens if he marries to another us citizen? The GC was he got for 10 years and i think he still got a couple more years before it expires.

Re: Annulment question

With the facts that you describe it is difficult to provide you with information that will help your friend. Further, without seeing the documentation your friend received from USCIS and learning what and when he filed with USCIS, it is difficult to give him accurate information. If he wants to discuss in detail, he can contact me directly to set up an appointment.
