Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

aquiring a students visor.

I came here on a visitor's visa and during my stay I applied for college and got admitted. and now my visa has expiredand am still in school. what step can I take to get the F1 in order to finish school?

When you signed up for the college course did you informed the college that you were in the country on a visitor's visa?

Once you applied to a college and got accepted you should have then asked the college to assist you in applying for a student visa. They are the ones who will have to inform immigration as to what courses you are taking, how you are paying them, etc.

All colleges normally have a department that deals with overseas students.

Note, as a student you do not have the right to work in the US to pay for your classes.

Key point you should also note is that once you became a student your status changed and you were no longer a visitor. This is something you should have immediately informed immigration about.
