A U.S. citizen can sponsor an adult son, however, if over 21 that son is no longer in the "immediate relative" category. What this means is that there will some wait time until a visa is available. If you want to do this, however, you should petition for your son as soon as possible.

Hi,

You can sponsor your son in the family-based 1st or 3rd preference category depending on the marital status of your son: www.h1b1.com/sponsor.htm

It will take a few years for a visa to be available: www.h1b1.com/visawaiting.htm
