Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

Hello! I am an F1 student who just arrived to the states to start grad school. I have many problems back home and was wondering what would happen to my visa if I gave up college (with the faculty's approval) and returned home. Also if I do it the correct and legal way would it affect my chances of getting another visa next year?

If you had to terminate your studies and your I-20 were terminated, as long as you leave before the I-20 termination, you should not have any problems reapplying and getting a new I-20 to return to the U.S.. You should have proof of the emergencies at home just in case you are ever questioned about it, of course.
