Legal Question in Insurance Law in New York

Do I need a Wavier ?

I am looking to apply for an insurance license as an insurance agent under health and accident insurance in NYS. However back in 2001 I was convicted of a felony and I need to know if I need a wavier before I can apply for an insurance license. And If I do need one, then how would I go about applying for one and what can I do to get it approved? Any assistance that you can provide in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

You may obtain all such info from the New York State Insurance Department. They have a website that is accessible thru the NY State website.

You will need a "relief from civil disabilities". You will get this from the Court and the judge that gave the conviction.

Good Luck
