Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New York

I just discovered that my article of some 2,000 + words which was published in the Internet in Articlebase e-magazine earlier this year, has been plagiarized, just lifted TOTALLY by one attorney in LA, California and posted in his law office blog for the past 6 months. It's completely without my permission. (Never even knew about it till now). He carefully removed my name and URL and put his own name as the author.

What do I do? I need to find a lawyer to file suit again him. Can you do it? Can you get me a lawyer in LA who will do it?

As a Franchise Attorney the first thing I advise is to contact this attorney and let him know what's going on. These days, a lot of internet articles are being sold by third parties, so the attorney may be entirely unaware. If the facts ultimately show culpability, you would have grounds for copyright infringement. Did you register your copyrighted article? Did it have a copyright notice on it identifying you as the author? Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
