Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

If my background check was clear and i was hired for a job and they retracted the offer because i was honest about my criminal background on the application can i sue the company?

Under NY law having a criminal record does not bar you from employment unless the employer is able to prove that your past crime is rationally related to your employment with the prospective employer (e.g. child sex offenders cannot work in a child care center).
