Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Where can I get a final judgement?

My ex is supposed to be winning money through a lawsuit in NY. Is there any way which I can obtain the document stating how much he won? I have subscribed to Pacer....but it's not there....when it is final will I be able to get it though pacer? or is that private info how much someone wins? Or do I need to hire an attorney to obtain those docs? the case had to do with denial of overtime wages...

Do you know what court its in? Pacer is only for Federal Court. Why do you think you are entitled to obtain the money? If you are involved in a matrimonial action, ask your attorney to find out.

It could be private if its settled with a stipulation of consifentiality. If it goes to judgment, its a public record. So are most settlements.

Overtime claims (under the FLSA - Fair Labor Standards Act) are almost always filed in federal court, but because they are frequently filed as class actions, your husband's name may not appear in the caption and that may be why you are unable to locate the case.

Companies involved in overtime-wage cases nearly always require employees to sign confidentiality agreements and I would suspect that any individual settlement figures would not be disclosed on a publicly accessible system.

Good luck!
