forced to use vac time for jury duty

Can an employer ( large nonprofit hospital) who covers 10 days of jury duty force me to use vacation/personal time for the additional 10 days not covered?

Re: forced to use vac time for jury duty

Your employer is required to provide time off for jury service. However, the employer is not required to pay you for that time. In other words, if you want to be paid for the time you are on jury duty (other than what the county pays for such service), you can be required to use your accumulated vacation time and/or personal time, depending on your employer's policies.
