Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I am a NY teacher on maternity leave. I was told today that I would not be invited back to work next year. However, they also told me that I would not be able to return for the remainder of this year (I have two weeks left on my leave), because they have a leave replacement. This is clearly an attempt to save money for the district, but is it a violation of FMLA? Thank you.
