Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I am prior military with PTSD. I am working for New York State. I am at an academy for work and I had an anxiety attack. I was in the middle of playing a game of spades, and stood up to go to my room. As I was leaving one of the other players started egging me on telling me i was a bad sport. I turned around and yelled at him he didn't know what he was talking about. Some people stepped between us and I continued on to my room. I cooled off and got over my attack, while the guy who was egging me on, continued to do so outside my room door. After cooling down i tried to talk to him, tell him what happened. He wouldn't listen and I closed the door. I had to fill out an incident report and see the director in the morning. He called my work place without me present. He then told me I could turn in my resignation or be fire. I did not threaten or hit anyone. Do I have a case?
