Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

work related stress

I have seen a doctor for work related stress. I am taking medication and doctor reduced hours because this type of stress is unhealthy. Does the employer have any responsibility? My employer denied workman's compensation to get reimbursed for medical bills related to seeing a doctor and further retaliated with making job full time from part time. Further retaliation has been to increase number of days worked per week. Has made no changes to help employee deal with stress which is related specifically to the work load. Performance up to this issue has been exemplary for 10 years. Female over 50. Was also told prior to this issue was highest paid in dept and could be issue due to being part time. Anything I can do? I know people would just say quit, but in this day and age, employers don't care about workers well being. I cannot lose my health insurance.
