Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Was working for a company and I was with a friend who was stealing in the mall! And I got arrested because I was with her! Got a few charges and my work called me into a meeting the next day and asked about it they put me on a suspension with out pay! I just revived a letter in the mail stating that they termenated me on that same day when I was suspended till court date is that Liget or can they not do that?

It depends is the answer. Before you worry about your job and whether the termination was proper, you need to worry about being exonerated in court. If you are found guilty or plead guilty, then ultimately the employer's terminating you won't be viewed as unreasonable. On the other hand, of the charges are dropped or you beat them, you'll be in a stronger position to sue your former employer
